Speak Peace

Speak peace to my soul

When my days are dark.

Speak kindness to my body

When my mind is torn apart.

Calm the inner war

When I fight against myself.

Show me you are the grace

I feel unworthy to behold.

Show me you are the kindness

I could never show myself.

Sit with me in panic.

Push it into the earth.

Cast it out of me

Like any other curse.

Hold me like a child.

Lay your hand on my tortured mind.

One touch from you would heal the blind

SPEAK

And peace and kindness wash over me.

A little about this poem

Speak peace was born out of deep mental struggle. It is a recognition before myself and God of where I was mentally at the time and also a prayer and appeal to God. I knew he was with me but I found it hard to see him at the time.
